In addition to its famous marble, many renowned ancient Greek sculptors, painters, and poets originated from Paros. Throughout history, the island served as a key administrative and commercial hub in the Aegean, seeing periods of prosperity under Roman, Byzantine, Frankish, Venetian, and Ottoman rule. Geographic location

Paros is a Greek island in the central Aegean Sea, belonging to the Cyclades island group, situated west of Naxos and east of Antiparos. Located in the South Aegean region, this mountainous island spans approximately 165–196 km², characterized by rocky terrain and a circular shape.

How to get there

  • By Air
    You can fly directly to Paros (PAS) via domestic flights from Athens International Airport. The Paros airport is located in the Kampos area, approximately 10km from Parikia, and is accessible by car, taxi, or public bus.

    By Ferry
    Paros is accessible by ferry from Athens and several other islands

    – From Athens: Ferries depart daily from Piraeus Port year-round. During the summer, departures are more frequent, and additional service is available from Rafina Port, which is located closer to Athens International Airport.
    – Island Hopping: The island is well-connected to the Cyclades and Crete. Frequent summer routes make it easy to combine a stay in Paros with visits to other islands such as Ios or Heraklion.
